It’s only a few of us who are lucky to have lived our childhood with our grandparents. I am one of the lucky ones to have spent my childhood with my dearest Patti.

It’s been around 10 years since she left this world, but I strongly believe she is still present with us in everything we do and is part of every day we celebrate.

If anyone who met her even once had to describe her in a word, it would be “Annapoorani”. One of the most generous person to ever exist. She has bestowed our entire family with incredible love, kindness, and affection which still is the binding force keeping us all together. She always made sure everyone was well-fed, not only with her food but with her incredible love too. During my childhood, if anyone asked me who is your BFF, without a thought I would have said it’s my patti. She definitely brightened up my childhood and defined my adulthood.

To this day, I have not seen anyone with such great will power and absolute optimism. Whatever obstacle came her way, she always faced it and came out of it with a big smile. She taught us how to be strong and gave us the vision and determination to strive for the best in life.

My closeness to patti during childhood has greatly inspired me to be like her and carry forward her traits. While I am still trying and nowhere close to possessing her level of strength, I am proud to at least have her name as mine too.

Patti, while I sorely miss you at every small success of mine, I imagine you beaming with joy, blessing me from whenever you are.

Love you Patti!
